| Win Hed Kandi: World Series – Live From San Francisco
Global clubbing doyens Hed Kandi continue on their worldwide musical voyage with the very welcome return, following a two-year hiatus, of the ‘World Series’, the latest instalment of which comes from California’s coolest city, San Francisco. Capturing a magical moment in time and space, the World Series takes the sights and sounds of a hedonistic night hanging with the Kandi crew in San Fran’s most glamorous spots and translates them into a 2 CD live mix format with the aid of Hed Kandi kingpins Phil Faversham & Jim Breese.
To help transport you to your musical destination this instalment of the World Series is the first to come with it’s own travel guide booklet, detailing every happening hot spot, cool bar, amazing attraction and hip hotel in the Golden Gate city. Keep your eyes peeled for the next booklet - The Flykandi Guide To Summer - which will come packaged with the Hed Kandi Summer Sampler.
Steeped in an electrifying atmosphere from the off, CD1’s soulful beginnings come courtesy of Jody Wisternoff’s ‘Starstrings’ which slips effortlessly into ATFC’s lowslung rerub of Dubfire’s ‘Roadkill’, as the horizons open up, crossing the myriad musical themes that have made Hed Kandi so essential. With Fedde Le Grand’s electro flair, Ran Shani’s lush melodies and a stunning Deadmau5 rework of Hybrid’s classic ‘Finished Symphony’, the World Series rides the Zeitgeist with casual cool. Bob Sinclar Presents Fireball, John Dahlbäck, Dirty South & Paul Harris all maintain the rapturous vibe until Adam K & Soha’s throbbing ‘Twilight’ brings CD1 to an end.
Electro upstarts Chromeo set the pace on CD2 with LifeLike’s future-retro mix of ‘Needy Girl’ adding a touch of cultivated dancefloor savvy to proceedings. Chris Lake & Sébastien Léger’s funk powered ‘Word’ blends into the bleeping riffs of Tiger Stripes’ ‘Survivor’ as the World Series: Live From San Francisco’s captivating selection whisks you onto the dance floor and into the heart of the Ruby Skye or Dolce, as you lose yourself in another faultless selection from Team Kandi paying tribute to one of the world’s most vibrant cities. Mobin Masters’ reworking of ‘Show Me Love’ replete with a new Robin S vocal provides a familiar cutting edge as tracks from D. Ramire, Denis Naidanow and Kadoc lead into a deep and spine-tingling closing track from Steve Angello & Laidback Luke, completing Hed Kandi’s San Fran excursion.
With the reintroduction of the World Series and their Ibiza season kicking off at El Divino on 7th June, when Hed Kandi will once again partner with Monarch for Flykandi, 2008 is already shaping up to be Hed Kandi’s most legendary year by far.
