Only When I dance captures the extraordinary true story of two teenagers chasing a seemingly impossible dream; to escape their homes in the Favelas of Rio for a career in ballet. The cameras stay close to the pair through their auditions at Brazil’s prestigious ballet school and subsequent training, taking in the luxurious views of the south American country to breath taking effect.
But the question that haunts the action is can they make it? Dance, is for Irlan and Isabella, an all consuming passion but can their raw talent be enough to escape the violent and dangerous outskirts of Rio?
