Terror Trap (DVD Review)

review by: Troy Elliott
If you're looking to watch a movie as unoriginal as it's title suggests than look no further. There is possibly no other activity better suited to wasting 90 minutes of your day than to endure this barrage of bad acting, thoughtless plot-direction and quite honestly un-creative film-making.
How this movie ever made it off the page is a mystery and the fact that even mediocre performances from b-list actors such as Jeff Fahey seem even noteworthy in comparison to the rest of the cast, is a testament to how truly atrocious Terror trap really is.
Due for release this month from Anchor Bay Films this film is an obvious clone of the film Vacancy and a very bad version at that, plus, I ask does the world really need another mindless motel slasher movie? Apparently so.
As for the direction the only thing that can be surmised is that Dan Garcia has been trapped in a time warp and can only shoot movies through the lense of the early 1990’s, there is simply nothing inspired or original going on and begs the question why bother to even shout the word ‘action’?
And if you thought that Reservoir Dogs veteran Michael Madsen is this movies saving grace, think again, there are not enough quip remarks or beaming grins in his tool box to render this movie salvageable and his presence in Terror Trap is as scarce as anything else that could be classed as talent throughout the entire film.
Extras

Thank goodness there are no DVD extras to speak of, although its doubtful that anyone with the slightest bit of self-worth would have wasted anymore time with this drivel. Watch paint dry instead, you’ll be more entertained. |
