Alien Syndrome Review (PSP)
review by: Gaz Deaves
Dusted off by SEGA and given a fresh lick of paint after nearly 20 years, this ‘classic’ appeared in the arcades back in 1987 and looked a lot like Gauntlet but with aliens. Come around to 2007 and we’ve got much the same thing: a fairly standard shoot ‘em up where you rain fiery death on a variety of slimy aliens using typical sci-fi weapons. Sadly, the gameplay is dull, repetitive and only slightly improved by a roleplaying-style attribute system. Multiplayer possibilities improve the lifespan somewhat, but are limited by the fact that you’ll need a friend with a copy of the game, and you wouldn’t want to wish that on anyone.
Poorly. |
