The most hyped game of 2007 is finally here and it was almost worth the three-year wait. With this third outing's combination of breakneck first-person shooter action, huge explosions and a near-perfect online multiplayer mode, Halo can now be comfortably counted as one of the greatest games series of all time. Purists may be slightly disappointed by the graphics, which are only slightly improved over the Xbox original, but most will be too busy grinning insanely as they gun down the sinister alien Covenant to notice.

Unmissable.
