FIFA 08 Review (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii)
review by: Gaz Deaves
The evergreen console football simulation is back for a 2008 remix, with some fairly revolutionary changes to the old formula. The biggest difference from earlier FIFA games is the pace - the action has been slowed right down, bringing the feel much more in line with a proper game of football. The result is a much stronger focus on strategy rather than simply getting the ball and running down the wing. Some players will be put off by the relative shortage of goals (1-0 is a fairly regular scoreline), and it’s not the easiest game to pick up in the early stages but the rewards are there for those who persevere.
