Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary Review (Xbox 360)
4/5
review by: Gaz Deaves

The first lady of gaming, Lara Croft, returns to the Xbox 360 in this remake of the 1997 classic. Almost identical to the original Tomb Raider released 10 years ago, the main difference in this Anniversary edition is the inclusion of a little bit of next-generation visual sparkle.

Gameplay-wise, very little has changed, which is a good thing as thecombination of thoughtful platforming and dual pistol action was fantastic then and still holds up today. There isn’t much wrong with Tomb Raider Anniversary, but some fans will be disappointed by the graphics, which are pretty but don’t really do justice to the Xbox 360’s capabilities.

Even so, the addictive puzzling and tense boss fights more than compensate for the lack of eye candy. Easily one of the best platform games of the year.
