Anjunadeep: 02
Anjunabeats (Album Review)
review by: Sav D’Souza
Anjunadeep: 02 is a heart pumping good dance album.
Mixing up trance, techno and house to good effect are Jaytech and James Grant producing a rousing and accomplished dance album.
Anjunabeats label boss James Grant mixes CD1 which has a more deep trance, techno sound interspersed with electro house. While CD2 is mixed up by Jaytech, no stranger to producing for Anjunabeats, and has more a house feel about it moving from hard to progressive all adding to its ebullient and lively sound.
There are more than enough decent mixes on the 24 track double album which makes a refreshing chance as a lot of dance albums fail to warrant two CDs.
CD1 kicks off nicely with Jaytech & James Grant - Moth, with a warm soft, subtle slow moving build up which evokes promises of warm summers, partying, sunsets and good times. Feeling the biting cold in the UK stick this one and instantly feel the raidating glow. Neatly running into track three is the excellent trance/electronic house track Jody Wisternoff - Lassoo, a bit of monster mix but satisfying. Other notable tracks are 16 Bit Lolitas’ Re-Murdered and Singularity.
CD2 has a more euphoric vibe and should please more house orientated devotes. Paul Keeley – Cloud 9 works really well as does Dave Horne - Q.E.D another good monster track in the compilation.
Following on from the critically acclaimed Anjunadeep: 01 last year this following up should be worthy of similar praise. Good stuff. |
