Uriah Heep Into The Wild (Album Review)

‘Into The Wild’ is the 23rd album by the progressive rock band ‘Uriah Heep.’ Littered with impressive rifts, guitar solos and remarkable drumming, the core talent laid out on this album is enough to amaze any music fan.
It is very evident by their latest offering that the five members of ‘Uriah Heep’, guitarist Mick Box, bassist Trevor Bolder, lead vocals Bernie Shaw, keyboard Phil Lanzon, and drummer Russell Gilbrook have been doing this for a very long time. With 40 years in the music industry, the passion of this five piece band certainly echoes throughout the album.
‘Nail On The Head’ is the opening track, a catchy, head-banging number with the chorus ‘We hit the nail right on the head; we hit the nail right on the head.’ The track, ‘I Can See You’, is a fast paced rock number along with ‘Into The Wild’ a tune with choir sounding choruses.
‘Trail Of Diamonds’ starts off calmly before rapidly speeding up and demonstrating solid guitar skills, a track which definitely stands out on the album.
The tune ‘Lost’ is heavily guitar led with powerful organ playing and vocals by Trevor Bolder. The closing track ‘Kiss Of Freedom’ has an outstanding instrumental towards the end of the song.
Some may find the album monotonous and not as contemporary as it could be especially in today’s cluttered market, others may find it surprising. With the energetic productions and the memorable melodies, ‘Into the Wild’ may simply be enough to charm their fans.
