We Are Together Trailer

Life has not been easy for 12-year-old Slindile, her siblings and her friends at the Agape Orphanage in South Africa, where most of the children have lost their parents to AIDS. Despite their difficult circumstances, they are still kids and teenagers – bashful around boys, playing games, and squabbling with each other.

But when they lift their voices in song, something extraordinary happens. We Are Together follows the remarkable and moving story of a group of children who use their music to overcome hardship and loss. As the kids at Agape orphanage train for what they hope will be their big break, Slindile and her siblings are hit with further hard news - their oldest brother Sifiso has AIDS.

British director Paul Taylor filmed the children of Agape for over three years, capturing their highs and lows, and culminating in their remarkable journey from the orphanage to New York where they get the opportunity to sing with Alicia Keys and Paul Simon. The resulting film We Are Together is an uplifting and inspirational testament to the power of music, which has won numerous awards at international festivals, and fans of the children's music across the world.

We Are Together is released in cinemas on 7th March. The official soundtrack featuring The Agape Children's Choir, Paul Simon and Ladysmith Black Mambazo is released on Monday 3rd March.
